And when we find a rhythm or balance that works best for us, we don’t have to fall to all of the trendy health products or diets.

When we nurture our bodies with real, whole foods, our bodies thrive. Our hormones benefit from real nutrition, and likewise, we benefit from paying attention to our hormones. I help women track their cycles and learn to optimize their lifestyles around their hormonal fluctuations so they can feel their best. For example, during your follicular phase, your body is ready to lift weights, go to social outings, lead meetings, and film your social media content. During your luteal phase and menstruation, your body will benefit from more low-key activities, like going for walks or doing yoga, sleeping more, and turn inward to rest.

This is different for each person! For some women, they are able to go off birth control and get pregnant the following month. For other women they need a few months to rebalance their hormones. Learning more about yourself and tracking your cycle can be helpful. We can also look at some functional testing to get to the root of your hormone imbalance.

There are a few techniques to tracking your cycle. You can use an app, a physical day planner, track your body temperature, cervical mucus or a combination of these techniques. How do you know which one is right for you? First we’ll start with the basics of each one and then through experimentation we can find the best method for you!

Your body is constantly sending you information via physical symptoms. And it shows up differently for everyone. You may notice acne, fatigue, pms, heavy periods, irregular periods or maybe a combination of these or none of these. It’s different for everyone. Through personalized coaching and functional testing we can get to the root cause.

We can balance your hormones through diet and lifestyle interventions. That might look like weight training, adding more protein to your diet, going gluten free. It really depends on you. My goal is to help you get tuned into your body and help you try different methods to help you feel your best. We can get into functional testing to get to the root cause of the imbalance and the best approach for you. Hormones are like a symphony, we need all of the instruments working together for the music to sound good. If we lose one of the sections, it doesn’t sound the same.
